Greater Miami is always interested in considering new members.

If your organization is interested in associating with the premier youth football & cheerleading league in Miami Dade county, please contact any of the individuals on our Board.

The Greater Miami Pop Warner League was chartered by Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., a national non-profit organization, in 1972, as the governing body of its eight associated member parks in Miami – Dade County. Pop Warner is the only national youth sports program which requires its participants to maintain a level of academic achievement in order to participate.

Greater Miami - S. Florida Pop Warner is an all volunteer, 501c(3) non profit organization that provides an organized tackle football and cheerleading program for  over 3500 children, from 6 to 15 years of age, in Miami-Dade County.

The League now consists of 9 member associations, which provide the facilities and equipment to run the programs at various parks in the county. We estimate that the associations’ football and cheer coaches alone volunteer in excess of 60,000 man hours during the actual season. This of course does not include the volunteer hours spent during the remainder of the year required to organize and maintain the association or league operations.

The mission of GMSF is to enable local children to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a structured and safe environment. Through our associations, Pop Warner programs instill the fundamental values of teamwork, dedication and a positive work ethic both on and off the field of play.

While the individual associations provide the coaches and equipment necessary to field its teams, it is the function of the League to, among other duties;

1. Provide the scheduling of all games and contract with the local officials organization for qualified game officials and competition judges

2. Administer and enforce all National and Local rules

3. Organize and operate local and regional championship games and cheer competitions

4. Oversee compliance of all participants with nationally established scholastic standards

5. Honor all local student athletes with a minimum GPA of 96 at an annual scholastic banquet and ensure their participation in regional and national scholastic honors events.

6. Provide clinics for football and cheer coaches, as well as scholastic coordinators and association administrators to maintain the highest possible level of excellence throughout the league and all its operations

7. Enable the increased opportunity for participation by the youth of Miami-Dade County in Pop Warner by increasing the number of high quality member associations

If your organization is interested in becoming a member of the Pop Warner family, please feel free to apply, using this application form.
